About Us

We are an independent, family-run veterinary practice in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.

We started Ampthill Veterinary Centre with a simple mission: to provide exceptional stress-free care tailored to the needs of individual pets and an exceptional service tailored to the needs of their owners.

Our values

Our core values underpin our commitment to CARE:

Continuity

An initial consultation helps us to get to know you and your pet better, following which you will see the same vet whenever possible. We will work with you to achieve the best outcome for you and your pet, with decisions and treatments tailored to both your and their needs.

Approachable

We will listen to you to understand any concerns or questions you may have. We appreciate that every pet is unique and there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach. We are here to talk to if you have any concerns, encourage feedback and want all you to feel comfortable to discuss all available treatment options available.

Respect

We work with integrity, giving you an honest opinion. Our independence means we have the clinical freedom to provide the best possible care without pressure to meet targets or make sales. We are not here to sell you products that you don’t need, we are here to care. We endeavour to be clear and transparent about our fees.

Our staff are pet owners too, and so we all understand how important they are. We will always treat your pet as though they are our own and to make their stay as stress-free and comfortable as possible.

Excellence

We value the knowledge, skills and experience of all of our staff members and encourage them to share their knowledge. We enable staff to develop professionally by following their interests in order that they can be the best clinicians possible.

The practice

The practice is newly developed and highly equipped, featuring:

  • In house laboratory, allowing us to run blood samples and examine microscope slides on-site.
  • A full range of diagnostic equipment including x-ray and ultrasound.
  • Brand new specialist dental equipment, including separate dental x-ray.
  • Large spacious cat kennels separate from dog kennels, to maximise comfort and minimise stress.
  • A separate theatre to keep procedures as sterile as possible
  • Patient monitoring systems to help make anaesthetics as safe as possible.
  • Plenty of free public parking available behind the practice.

Any questions?

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us, either by telephone, using our online form or by visiting us in-person.

We look forward to welcoming you soon.
